Hand-stippled design of a Three-wattled Bellbird (Procnias tricarunculatus). The Three-wattled Bellbird is a species of bird native to the forests of lower Central America. In the breeding season they are restricted to Cloud Forests, and in the winter they can be found in more lowland areas. While they are only listed as vulnerable, their populations are declining rapidly with deforestation. They have a mutualistic relationship with a critically endangered species of tree called Ocotea monteverdensis, as they help disperse the seeds of the fruits farther than they could disperse on their own. They are one of the loudest birds on the planet, reaching 100 decibals.
